    April 30, 2008

    Red striped top: Banana Republic
    Grey dress: Gap
    Knee socks: Sock Dreams
    Mary-Jane heels: Target

I like to try and see how creatively I can dress for work. These are my favorite kneesocks from Sock Dreams -- they are adorable and fit perfectly on my tiny size 5 feet. This shot also debuts my newly permed hair, which had to be under wraps and pulled back last week as my hair recovered from the shock of the perm. Soon enough I have long wavy locks again...

Skull bow: Felt Club (I can't remember the vendor!)
    Vintage dress: PCC Flea Market
    Black slip (under): Old Navy
    Velvet green belt: etsy seller
    Sandals: Rainbows
    Bag: Old Navy

Southern California is experiencing a heat wave while the rest of the country is buried under a snow storm. So of course it's time to break out the flea market sundresses and SPF 55 to celebrate! I wore this out to the Alcove for brunch, to run errands, and then to the Animation Open Show up at CalArts (hence the lazy but wonderfully comfortable flip flops, a remnant of my college days in San Diego).

    Fiending.

First it started with this pair of really cute, well made, pragmatic-yet-adorable Mary-Jane flats. The reviews are amazing. Then I wondered if I should really spend $124 on a pair of flats. And THEN, I remembered that I have a job, no debt, and despite future plans, still have a bit of disposable income (the silver lining of the real world). So I started to fantasize...

Why shouldn't I live my life in GLITTER AND EXORBITANTLY PRICED SKYSCRAPER HEELS:

(In my dream life, these are what I wear everyday except they feel like pillows on my feet. Oh and they come in every color of the rainbow. Apparently in my dream life, I'm also a drag queen.)

When people say they don't "get" the inflation of designer shoes, let's just look at these. I mean, what is there to get? These are gorgeous and will clearly make your life whimsical and fulfilling, like a modern fairy tale or Gossip Girl*.

*I have never seen Gossip Girl, so this is a groundless statement.

Gold bow necklace: etsy seller KatinaPinka
    Black top: Banana Republic
    Nude camisole: Nordstrom's
    Jeans: Bitten

    Sad face: raging cold.

I'm developing a deep affinity for nude + black combinations -- what up, Calvin Klein '99.

    White cardigan: H&M
    Black tank: urban outfitters
    Pink corduroy skirt: AE
    Gold Seychelle flats: Lorin

The tank I've had for 8 years and the skirt for about 6. I'm such a hoarder.

Pinstriped navy dress: from my mom
    Black slip: Old Navy
    Black knee highs: Sock Dreams
    Brown boots: from Annie!

My legs are not actually that pale, there was a shadow in the room. The weather is back to high 60s, so it's time to break out the new boots I got from Annie!

    Shirt-Goodwil, I bought this yesterday
    Pants-Gap
    Shoes-Nine West

The jacket was on sale at Urban Outfitters for $10 which is a good thing because it is so poorly made. The buttons are all limp eyed and one already fell off. I feel bad for whoever bought it full price. I love the shirt, however it is 100% polyester and it is no joking matter that this shit doesss nooot BREAAATHE. Thankfully Minneapolis is only going to be 60 degrees (hopefully) today. My hair is a little ooc today.

I'm going to be honest. Sometimes I am super lazy and wear the same pair of jeans from Friday-Sunday. It's like who cares right? I'm not at work.

    Work Red-y

    April 8, 2008
    Cardigan: AE
    White shirt: Gap
    Black lace tank: Express
    Black pencil skirt: Old Navy
    Red heels: Target

One of my go-to work outfits: a lacy black tank that largely sat in my closet since 2002 until I realized it looked awesome as a vest sometime last year, and a comfortable pencil skirt from Old Navy. I really just wanted an excuse to wear my red heels.

    Jacket: Buffalo Exchange
    Dark red top: Banana Republic
    Bird dress: F21
    Red flats: Bass

It feels good to be back among the living again. The past three weeks I've been living in my sweatpants. However, it's suddenly become chilly in California again -- I know I know, 68 is nothing to complain about compared to the rest of the world. But I stay in level 9 pollution and exorbitant rent for the 75 degree year round!
